Our Oxfordshire Child and Adolescent Mental Health (CAMHS) Eating Disorder Service (CAEDS) has recently expanded and been given additional funding- we're developing innovative treatment pathways, such as PEACE and we have launched a Enhanced Care Pathway to include intensive community treatment for eating disorders.
We're now looking for a Lead Nurse to join us. This is the perfect opportunity for you if you're looking to grow into leadership.
Your overall aim is to provide specialist nursing expertise within Oxfordshire CAEDS and to have a lead role in supporting young people with complex presentation/those with comorbidities and you will also be leading a team of nurses, who are developing into specialists in eating disorders. Working in a large team offers plenty of opportunity to use higher-level skills including supervision, consultancy and leadership.
We're an inclusive and supportive team - you'll be working with qualified psychologists, assistant psychologists, psychiatrists, family therapists, paediatricians, dieticians, social workers, support workers and an occupational therapist. We're well supported by a excellent administration team too.
We'll need you to be ambitious, have a positive attitude and outstanding clinical skills. Some experience of working within the field of eating disorders would be required, however we will consider applicants with less extensive experience but with a genuine interest in the client group and a willingness to undertake training.

As a Lead Nurse working with young people with eating disorders and their families, no two days are the same.
Many of our young people are physically compromised and/or highly distressed often requiring input from other services at the same time. The clinical work is incredibly varied, but is always formulation driven and evidence-based. We work very closely with families and caregivers and also offer a range of individual therapies and group work.
The main component of the role will be to provide high quality specialist therapeutic treatments and physical health monitoring to patients and their carers/families using a range of modalities and to support other staff in providing these interventions (either through joint working or through supervision and consultation).
You will have a lead role in supporting the care of young people with complex presentations and comorbidities.
You will be part of the leadership team ensuring best practice and forward thinking.
You will liaise with other CAMHS teams and other NHS or statutory services and will regularly offer consultation to other teams.
