The Trust is part of the Lancashire and South Cumbria Integrated Care System (ICS) supporting a population of around 1.6 million people.

Together with members of the midwifery team the health trainer will contribute to the implementation of a high standard of individualised care by working on concentrated public health projects. They will communicate effectively with other members of the health care team, women and relatives through referral, education and audit.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- To action new pregnancy referrals, setting up portal access for Badgernet online maternity database and referring to community midwifery teams.
- Provide pre booking health information to the women and families through patient facing and virtual education sessions.
- Follow stop smoking procedures and referral process’ to support women and their families to stop smoking.
- To prescribe Nicotine Replacement Therapy following recognised training
- To provide evidence-based information and support based on the public health priorities via face-to-face education programmes such as Parent Education and Infant Feeding.
- Working with the wider MDT to offer connection between community and hospital-based service.
- Working with our wider partnerships across the local and national teams to enhance patient care and build strong working relationships.
