The North Yorkshire and York CAMHS Eating Disorder Service is looking for 1 full time Band 6 CAMHS (Child & Adolescent Mental Health Services) Practitioner, to join the team. The applicant must hold a professional registration with an appropriate body.
This is an exciting opportunity to join an established community eating disorder team supporting young people and families with eating disorders. The role of a CAMHS practitioner is varied, including opportunities in providing assessment, care coordination, physical health monitoring and therapeutic treatment.
Nursing applicants should already hold NMC registration and have successfully completed their preceptorship programme. Please note: Newly qualified Nurses or those due to qualify will be recruited via a separate process.

The post holder will provide eating disorder services and treatment to young people and their families across North Yorkshire and York. The team operate out of Orca House, York and Dragon Parade Clinic, Harrogate, also providing outreach to Northallerton and Scarborough. The post holder will be based in either York or Harrogate, however may be asked to travel to other bases due to service need.
The team includes clinical psychologists, family therapists, nurses, dietitians, psychiatrists and social workers. Therefore, the ability to work effectively within a multi-disciplinary team is a requirement.
The post holder will provide evidence based assessment and treatment based interventions as part of the clinical eating disorder pathways, and offer input to individuals, their families and carers in a clinic setting. The candidate will also provide supervision, and mentorship to students and junior staff working within the team. The post holder will support the team with service development using the Trust’s quality improvement methods .
Due to the nature of the role it is essential that applicants are able to travel independently across the locality and have access to a suitable vehicle for business purposes. If necessary, adjustments can be considered in accordance with the Equality Act 2010.
