Nuclear Medicine Technologist or Radiographer
We are a vibrant, friendly and multi-disciplinary team working in the Institute of Nuclear Medicine at UCLH. The INM provides a comprehensive research and clinical PET/MR, PET/CT, SPECT/CT and general nuclear medicine imaging and bone densitometry service to UCLH Trust, the London PCTs and other Trust within the UK.
We have an extensive and internationally recognised research programme with University College London and other external collaborators. We commissioned the first PET/MR in this country in March 2012 in the MacMillan Cancer Centre. Currently, a broad range of research studies and trials are underway utilizing advanced MR and PET acquisition techniques, targeting important diseases in Neurology, Cardiology, Oncology and Immunity/Inflammation. A clinical service runs concurrently with the research PETMR service.
In addition to the PETMR service, there is a large and varied clinical & research workload in the rest of the department, provided by a wide range of state-of-the-art equipment including two dedicated PET/CT systems (64 slice and 16 slice), three SPECT/CT systems, of which two have full diagnostic CT capability.
In addition, we have a growing Molecular Radiotherapy service.
Advert
We are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to join the Institute of Nuclear Medicine and help to promote our Nuclear Medicine service. You will be a radiographer with a recognised qualification and HCPC registration, or Nuclear medicine technologist with RCT registration. Technologists without RCT registration will be expected to have obtained this within 6 months of joining, as part of probation objectives. Training will be given depending on your level of experience so that you may take an active part in all the clinical and research work performed within the department.
You will spend most of your time working in the Nuclear Medicine department, however, may rotate through to the MacMillan Cancer Center, to provide support as required.
