Job overview
The NHSBSA are leading the procurement of a future workforce solution for the NHS. We are looking for exceptional people, with expertise and relationships across transformation, workforce and digital, to engage the business and ensure readiness for the implementation stage.

This is a unique opportunity to perform a strategic engagement and tactical delivery role, which will shape the people digital agenda.
You will work across the North East and Yorkshire with NHS Trusts and ICBs engaging and influencing senior leaders through the transformation journey. An ability to travel across this region is essential with an occasional (2-4 times a month) requirement to travel across the UK.
You need excellent communication and relationship-building skills, an ability to create credibility rapidly, and digital expertise proven through delivering on large scale change/transformation. You will make connections across workforce, digital, data and information services to ensure this programme is aligned to the key workforce strategies, informing the successful implementation.
You will join the small, friendly, supportive, and dedicated Strategic Communications and Engagement team covering different geographical areas of England and Wales. Our team will ensure the business drives this programme with user needs at its heart.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
As a senior member of the ESR Transformation Programme team reporting to the transformation and change workstream programme lead, the role of ESR Transformation Engagement Lead is a key delivery partner for organisational readiness for workforce digital transformation across either multiple ICBs, or Wales. These roles will be the face of the transformation programme across the health and care system, responsible for ensuring organisations are ready to receive the new solution and make best use of it as early as possible.
In this role, the post holder will be responsible for leading on behalf of the transformation programme, our involvement in the planning, development, successful delivery, and impact evaluation for multiple ICBs or Wales’ workforce digital roadmaps to deliver the successful implementation of the new workforce solution in the context of the broader local and national workforce and digital agenda. For transformation to be a success, organisational readiness and the workforce digital roadmaps that support it, will cover technology, culture change, process improvement, enhancing digital capability, new operating models, new ways of working, communications and engagement, and workforce data. The post holder will work across all those areas, supporting the design, development, delivery, and evaluation of the roadmaps through the lens of, and for the benefit of, our transformation programme aspired outcomes.
Being a key member of a professional team, working directly with senior stakeholders in user organisations, across multiple ICBs or Wales, as well as nationally, the post holder will negotiate with commissioners, including national bodies, regions, Integrated Care Boards (ICBs), and user organisations to agree statements of work, delivery objectives, pricing, timelines, and ways of working, all within the context of a strong understanding of the changing environment and associated pressures on our delivery partners.
Effectively project planning and managing our programme’s involvement in the successful delivery of significant, multiple, concurrent projects and programmes of work at different phases, with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders to agreed standards, budget and timelines, agreeing and adjusting project deliverables and objectives in line with the changing operating context; identifying risks and issues and ensuring planned mitigations are in place to manage those; employing innovation and lessons learned to improve processes and ways of working, and linking delivery partners with relevant national and other projects and resources to help them to achieve their aims. Apply agile and Prince project management experience and expertise to project planning, delivery, and impact evaluation.
Being a key delivery partner for the ESR Transformation Programme, establishing credibility with and commanding respect from senior NHS HR Community and other senior stakeholders to enable successful, collaborative rollout of the new solution. This is a significant, strategic, high profile and complex programme of transformational change which not only impacts on NHSBSA Workforce Services portfolio of products and solutions, but on how Health and Care organisations make use of enabling technology solutions to manage and service their workforce needs, both locally and nationally. This programme carries a significant budget for delivery, involves very high risk and dependencies, produces high value, and benefits across complex operating environments and requires significant external engagement and stakeholder management at senior levels across the health and care system in England and Wales.
Being accountable to the ESR Transformation Programme Lead, the post holder is responsible for leading on behalf of the programme, our role in the planning, delivery and evaluation of a range of projects and activities to enable this large and complex system-wide digital rollout, within a defined geographical area.
