Finance Manager - Planning

Job overview

We have recently restructured our Finance department and have a new post in the Financial Strategy and Planning Team at Bedfordshire, Luton and Milton Keynes ICB.

As a strong candidate you will have an in-depth knowledge of NHS finance and activity reporting and extensive excel skills which you will use to develop bespoke reporting and financial modelling to support planning and projects.  Strong communication skills are essential, and you will need to be confident providing support and expertise to staff at all levels across the organisation.  You will coordinate the production of system wide reports and returns, liaising with representatives from our partners.  Your analytical skills will be put to good use, working with benchmarking tools and analysing activity trends to identify opportunities for efficiencies for the ICB and wider system.  For the right candidate this role is an excellent opportunity to demonstrate current skills and abilities and develop further with exposure to all aspects of the ICB’s business.

• Production of the monthly ICS finance report in conjunction with system partner finance lead’s and the ICB Financial Management teams.

• Support the Head of Financial Planning, System Finance & Capital with the production of the system medium term financial plan and national planning returns.

• Support the routine reporting of budget and spend at place and develop systems to improve processes.

• Use benchmarking information, such as RightCare, GIRFT, Model Hospital etc and provide expertise in these areas across the ICB to identify opportunities for efficiencies within the ICB and across the system.

• Provide financial support and expertise to business cases and projects.

• Support development and reporting of a capital programme within the ICB and ICS, including costing and review of business cases.

• Provide financial support and expertise to the ICS digital Programme, Health inequalities and the Population Health Management Programme.
