We’re looking for compassionate and caring Nursing Assistants with a passion to be a key part of the patient care journey here at Manchester University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (MFT). Our Nursing Assistants take great pride in the essential work we do. That’s because we’re not just helping patients, we’re going the extra mile for them – day in, day out. Our nursing teams are committed to caring for our patients and families, delivering consistent, high quality, patient focused care.
You’ll communicate in a sensitive and compassionate manner with patients, relatives, and other members of the multi-disciplinary team, working flexibly across a range of day shifts over 7 days a week

Being supervised by Registered Nurses & within Trust guidelines & protocols, you’ll assist the Nursing team in delivering the excellent standard of patient care that you would expect for yourself and your loved ones.
Your duties will involve supporting patients throughout their fertility treatment.
Following on the job training and assessment, you’ll learn how to undertake a range of delegated clinical care duties that include recording patient observations, & monitoring changes to patient conditions, venepuncture, chaperoning, assisting in procedure room and on the ward.

- Experience of working in more than one speciality within a health care environment
- Experience in supporting Quality Improvement audits and research and development activities
Qualifications

- Completed the National Care Certificate if relevant
- Holds a level 3 Vocational Qualification (e.g. NVQ or Apprenticeship) in clinical health care OR Able to demonstrate equivalent knowledge, skill and competency to undertake band 3 clinical skills (described in JD)
- Holds Functional Skills Level 1 Maths and English or education equivalent
Skills and abilities

- Good communication skills (written and verbal).
- Taking and recording vital signs and other clinical skill following appropriate training and assessment and within scope of job role
- Able to work as a team.
- Able to work on own initiative in delivery patient care, following direction by a Registered Healthcare Practitioner.
