An exciting opportunity has arisen for a competent, confident and enthusiastic full time Higher Assistant Psychologist to join the Forensic Community team. The post is 12 months - fixed term. It is based at Roseberry Park Hospital and working across Teesside, Redcar & Cleveland and Durham & Darlington.
The Forensic Community Service (FCS) is a regional service which provides care and treatment for adults (both male and female) who have a history of offending and/or pose a risk to others. Our service users have come into contact with the criminal justice system and have been within the secure in-patient pathway, and we provide Care Co-ordination for these patients upon discharge. The team also provides scaffolding and risk advice to other mental health services.
Advert
To undertake psychological assessments of clients with mental health difficulties or learning disabilities and delivery of psychological interventions in hospital and/or community settings, in accordance with care plans formulated by a qualified applied psychologist.
Provides clinical advice within scope of own competency to other members of the team, e.g. regarding the implementation of a specific psychological intervention for a client.
Delivers protocol-driven and broader psychological interventions in accordance with the care plan and reports progress to the qualified psychologist for further consideration.
Delivers psycho-educational sessions to client groups e.g. health and well-being, anger management, stress reduction etc.

Trust Welcome Day
Here at Tees, Esk and Wear Valleys Foundation NHS Trust, we want you to have a positive experience when you start your new role with us. To ensure you have great welcome, for all new starters joining the Trust, we offer two start dates per month on the 1st and 3rd Mondays of that month.
On your start date, you will be invited to our in person Trust Welcome Day at our Flatts Lane Centre, Middlesbrough. Your first day will be engaging and informative, it will allow you to meet and network with a range of Trust staff, learn more about us and what we offer. For certain clinical roles, your Welcome Day may then be followed up with additional mandatory/statutory clinical training.
