Professional Development Manager (Nursing) for Pre and Post Registration Students
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a creative and innovative individual, with a passion for nursing education, to join the Professional Development team in a part-time substantive post. In this role, you will manage the clinical student nursing agenda, ensuring that all clinical nursing students are supported and receive appropriate clinical placements in line with NMC regulatory requirements. Working as part of the Integrated Care System, you will ensure that all nursing students receive the experience, exposure and education they need to fulfill their programme requirements and qualify as our next generation of nurses.
You will support the recruitment and monitoring of clinical students, both pre- and post-registration, in partnership with Higher Education Institutions, NHS England and the Integrated Care System. The manager will ensure that the clinical environment is appropriate for learning and that Practice Assessors and Practice Supervisors are appropriately supported, trained and regulated.
In addition, you will support with preparation to role work across the service, providing support with career events, interview preparation and application support where appropriate.

Main duties of the job
You will:
· Manage the clinical placement allocation and capacity processes, ensuring the appropriate liaison with the Higher Education Institutions, Divisional Professional Nursing leads, Clinical Managers, Practice Assessors and Professional Development Administrators.
· Manage the development of the Practice Supervisors and Practice Assessors and ensure that they have the knowledge, skill, ability and attitude to assess, train and develop Clinical Nursing Students.
· Manage the clinical student recruitment processes ensuring the recruitment of high caliber healthcare students, utilising and adhering to the appropriate internal and external processes and governance requirements, in collaboration with clinical divisions and Higher Education Institutions.
· Manage the clinical educational audit process ensuring the appropriate compliance levels are developed and maintained and that all clinical placement areas are appropriate for clinical learning in line with HEI and regulatory requirements.
· Support colleagues across the Trust with preparation for roles, including support with career events, interview preparation and application support
