Job overview
An opportunity has arisen for a Paediatric ward manager to join our Paediatric team, this role covers the children’s ward, adolescent ward, children’s assessment unit, children’s clinic, children’s day surgery and specialist nursing teams. You will work alongside a team of senior nurses dedicated to improving the experience of our patient and families.

The post holder will hold 24 hour responsibility for the nurse staffing of the paediatric unit
They will provide nurse leadership and management in order to maintain standards of care and quality of experience for children and young people within the unit
The post holder will continue to develop services provide governance assurance including audit, incident management, complaints , risks, safety and quality initiatives
The post holder will be flexible with their hours to provide support as needed and this may include evenings, nights and weekends

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS
Essential criteria
- Registered Paediatric Nurse / Children’s Nurse
- First level degree
- Leadership qualification
Desirable criteria
- Masters degree, working towards a Masters Degree or equivalent experience in specialist field.
- Management qualification.
EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE
Essential criteria
- Substantial registration and clinical experience working with children in an acute paediatric setting at band 6 level.
- Evidence of management of clinical governance areas – risks, incidents, complaints, standards.
- Evidence of continuing professional development
