Job overview
The NIHR UCLH Clinical Research Facility is a well-established Clinical Research Facility covering two sites; a comprehensive Cancer and Medical research facility at 170 Tottenham Court Road, and the Leonard Wolfson Experimental Neurology Centre is a dedicated neuroscience experimental medicine facility at the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery (NHNN) at Queen Square (QS).

We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and self-motivated Senior Clinical Trials Coordinator/Project Manager to join the NIHR UCLH Clinical Research Facility. This role will be based across sites at Tottenham Court Road and Queen Square, collaborating closely with the Clinical Studies Manager to manage and develop the studies portfolio. The successful candidate will oversee the setup and timely initiation of both commercial and non-commercial clinical trials, ensuring they meet recruitment and performance goals. Building strong relationships with Principal Investigators and sponsors will be essential, as well as liaising with Research and Development, the pharmaceutical industry, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth trial operations. Additionally, the role involves line management of CRF Clinical Trials Coordinators, overseeing study setup processes, and providing leadership in study feasibility and coordination. This position serves as a pivotal link between the CRF and the Joint Research Office, contributing to the efficient setup of new studies and obtaining necessary permissions. The postholder will also act as a deputy for the CRF Clinical Studies Manager as needed. Knowledge and Qualifications
Essential criteria
- a) First degree in science/healthcare related discipline, or significant relevant experience.
- b) Comprehensive knowledge of UK Clinical Trials Regulations, ICH Good Clinical Practice, the European Directives on Clinical Trials and Good Clinical Practice and the Department of Health’s Research Governance Framework.
- c) Evidence of continued professional development

- d) Postgraduate qualification in science/healthcare discipline
Experience
Essential criteria
- a) Significant experience of clinical trials in either an academic or commercial setting
- b) Experience of working in a pharmaceutical company, contract research organisation or similar organisation
- c) Experience of obtaining research ethics committee and MHRA authorisations to conduct clinical trials and requirements to maintain those authorisations during clinical conduct
- d) Good knowledge of EU pharmacovigilance requirements
- e) Experience of maintaining, collating and manipulating complex data

- f) Evidence of developing systems for monitoring performance relating to research studies or programmes
- g) Experience of producing written reports
