Job overview
We are looking to recruit a CBT Therapist or Trainee CBT Therapist in Scarborough Integrated Community Team. This team provides support and intervention for working age adults experiencing severe mental health difficulties. This is an exciting time to join and be part of the transformation journey that the Community Mental Health Framework (CMHF) brings for increasing access to evidence based psychological therapies.
We would welcome applications from BABCP accredited CBT therapists, further training in competences for severe mental health problems would be desirable but further training would be available, and a requirement for, the successful candidates.
It is now no longer a requirement for CBT therapists in Tees, Esk and Wear Valleys NHS Foundation Trust to have a core profession in addition to accreditation, we now welcome applications from CBT therapists with a Knowledge Skills Attitude (KSA) equivalence portfolio.
If we are not able to recruit accredited CBT therapists, then we will consider applications from aspiring CBT therapists for training roles. Please see below for further details of eligibility for applications. In addition to aspiring CBT therapists, we would welcome applicants who have commenced CBT training and are looking to secure a Band 7 position on completion of this.
Advert
The successful candidate will provide high quality evidence-based therapy to working age adults experiencing severe mental health problems. You will work in collaboration with a wider multi-disciplinary team including other Psychological Professions colleagues. You will receive high quality supervision and CPD opportunities to enable you to achieve or maintain your accreditation.
Training to achieve competencies in either CBT for Psychosis & Bipolar Disorder or CBT for Personality Disorder would be an expectation and opportunity of the role, this would be fully funded, and job planned. Detailed job description and main responsibilities
The successful applicant will carry their own caseload providing CBT for a range of severe mental health presentations.
They will undertake specialist CBT assessment, formulation and intervention, collaborating with clients and multi-disciplinary colleagues.
The role involves undertaking risk assessment and management.
The consideration of culture, power and privilege within a patient care making adaptations to treatment as appropriate
They will provide advice, guidance and consultation on Cognitive Behaviourally informed approaches to other staff.
Person Specification:
Specialist CBT Therapist
Practitioner or First Accreditation as a Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist with BABCP
AND
A qualification that leads to registration with a professional regulatory body and current registration
OR
a Knowledge Skills Attitude (KSA) equivalence portfolio approved as part of BABCP accreditation.
Trainee CBT Therapist
A core profession recognised by BABCP.
AND
Registered with a professional regulatory body.
OR
An undergraduate degree in a relevant field to mental health
AND
Substantial experience demonstrating a breadth of experience in two or more mental health settings to meet KSA requirements.
