The NHSBSA is leading an important Future NHS Workforce Solution Transformation Programme to provide our NHS workforce with an efficient, fit for purpose platform. Our ambition is to deliver a new and transformational workforce solution, reflecting user-led requirements and using the latest technology to ensure a positive user experience.
A key element of this role is taking the highly complex data of the programme and presenting this in a way that will suit the diverse needs of different audiences. The data you present will be used to advise and provide insight to support programme decisions, giving you an excellent opportunity to support the direction of the programme and become a key part of the team.
Your responsibilities will play across the entire analytical spectrum; from managing technical solutions, handling complex data sets, analysis, insight, producing visualisations, to engaging with colleagues.
You will have a strong experiential work background and passion for helping others to be better data-informed. You will bring a breadth of skills, with expertise on both the technical complexities of the role and in engaging with people and building relationships.

Ability to handle and create highly complex datasets by using business intelligence tools, raw data, SQL queries and data mining techniques to clean, process, interrogate, analyse, and visualise data in an effective and informative manner.
Provide expert analysis and develop methods to collect, collate and evaluate complex quantitative and qualitative data using appropriate query tools for performance reporting, financial and benefits modelling, business planning and forecasting along with the responsibility for access and management of the information.
Responsible for the creation and maintenance of analysis and reports that support delivery, functions and decision making for the ESR Transformation Programme.
Responsible for the development of complex data sets aimed at presenting valuable insight around NHS organisations state of readiness for the future NHS workforce solution.
Developing a suite of effective reporting to incorporate all relevant areas of Enabling Readiness and Optimisation products.
Conduct advanced analysis, interpretation and presentation of highly complex data and information in relation to ESR usage and incorporating elements of the Enabling Readiness framework.
Decide on the best methodology to analyse, investigate, and resolve highly complex analytical queries or problems where there is a range of solutions or analyses.
Working with the SMEs to provide expert knowledge to create and combine complex data sets to provide an optimal level of understanding of required data.
Providing expert advice and support to collate relevant data packs for the supplier of the future NHS workforce solution and working with suppliers on ensuring a collective understanding of all relevant data is in place.
Identify gaps in data or data quality issues and provide solutions to mitigate where possible.
Working with external stakeholders to put relevant steps in place to use and transfer existing data sets, and where appropriate lead on ensuring all relevant governance and data sharing agreements are in place.
Communicates and presents highly complex and highly sensitive data and analysis effectively at all levels and to both internal and external stakeholders both verbally and in writing. Ensuring the information provided is accessible and understandable to a wide audience and conforms to high standards.

Responsible for developing fully documented analysis and dashboards to satisfy both routine and ad hoc insight to senior management to support critical decision making and other business areas and external customers, in line with business needs and required specifications along with accompanying notes and definitions to provide actionable intelligence. Also provides an expert resource in both technical skills required to create reports and the design of dashboards to communicate information and insight effectively.
Responsible for providing data to answer Freedom of Information, Parliamentary Questions and Subject Access Requests.
Represents the organisation as a data/business expert with internal, external customers and stakeholders. Provides ad-hoc support to the management team, where specialist skills/input is required.
Responsible for the maintenance of business intelligence tools to meet new and changing requirements. Liaises with the NHSBSA data warehouse team to ensure structures to support reporting needs e.g. a new service, are available.
Supports training and advice across the relevant services in relation to the appropriate usage and understanding of data and information.
Ensure the integrity of the data and all reports and information requests are quality checked in conjunction with business experts and statisticians, where appropriate.
Works collaboratively with a diverse range of customers/users within the Organisation at all levels, the NHS and external organisations to define and develop new information products, enhance existing information provision and support target monitoring work.
Propose policy or service changes to improve the services and processes of the ESR Transformation Programme and the wider NHSBSA.
