An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our team in the Endoscopy Unit at Wythenshawe Hospital. You will be supported by our dedicated Clinical Educator to become competent in assisting with a wide range of diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy procedures. If you are enthusiastic, motivated and keen to learn then this is a perfect opportunity to extend your skills and join our friendly team.

With access to 4 procedure rooms, our procedures are varied and diverse and include diagnostics and surveillance, gastroscopy, flexible sigmoidoscopy , colonoscopy, PEG insertion, ERCP and EUS FNA /FNB. We also provide an outreach and on call service providing endoscopy procedures for patients in critical care and theatres. So there is a real range of specialisms to develop your skills and experience.
To succeed, you’ll need to be committed to delivering high quality, patient focused care with pride and respect, have excellent interpersonal skills and be able to provide evidence of personal and professional development. With recent acute NHS experience as a must, we’ll train you in our endoscopy services and along the way, you’ll be supported by our in-house Clinical Educator with access to some of most sought after bespoke courses to progress your knowledge and experience in this field.

Qualifications

- Registered Nursing Associate on the NMC Register with a Foundation Degree
- GCSEs Grade C or above in Maths and English Language / New GCSE Grade 4-9 in Maths and English Language OR Functional Skills Level 2 in Maths and English or Equivalent (not entry level 2)
Knowledge

- Understanding of the scope of the role of the Nursing Associate in context of the nursing and interdisciplinary team and the organisation, and how the role may contribute to service development
- Understands and acts in line with NMC professional standards for practice contained within The Code
- Knowledge of when to seek advice and escalate to the appropriate professional for expert help and advice
- Understand requirements for NMC professional Revalidation
- Understanding of the importance of following procedures and treatment plans
Training & Experience

- Ability to support, supervise, assess and act as a role model to nursing associate students, other learners and health care support workers as required within the clinical setting.
