Experienced Podiatrist needed for high risk/ wound care in the borough of Bromley, with opportunities for MSK and nail surgery clinics.
Community foot protection team linked in with King's college hospital diabetic foot service for shared care of patients. The Podiatry team are a dynamic, friendly team seeking a motivated new member of staff to complete the team. Prospective candidate must have wound care experience, be motivated, flexible, communicative and able to work as part of a team.
This is an opportunity to join a committed, progressive team who work in a challenging and motivating environment, the successful candidates will have a community focused clinical caseload with a responsibility to provide foot health care and advice to patients with "at risk" feet.

Band 6 - BANK Specialist Podiatrist
You will work alongside a foot protection service with mix of clinical and domiciliary caseload management. You will be competent in high risk and wound management and aware of national guidelines and referral pathways.
To be responsible for the management of Podiatric caseloads including patients with wounds, demonstrating a high level of knowledge and skills to ensure the provision of high quality care, whilst observing and implementing policies, guidelines and procedures of Bromley Healthcare.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
You will be a communicative team player, with experience in wound care and management of the diabetic foot.
You will be able to manage a caseload, and although predominantly clinical care will be needed, you will be able to organise visits to those who are unable to attend community clinics. You will be confident in treatment, and be aware of criteria for service. You will know your scope of practice, when to ask for help, and how to escalate concerns to MDFT.
You will be able to liaise with nursing staff to arrange visits, and form treatment plans for internal and external departments to follow.
You will support the service and colleagues in clinic, and when seeing patients at home.

- Good verbal and written communication skills in order to deal with people of all age groups in clinical situations and also other health care professionals

- Post graduate experience of treating a high-risk caseload including a wound care caseload and a willingness to undertake post graduate training and education in specialist area’s of podiatry e.g diabetes
- Post graduate experience in: - Minor surgical procedures. - Biomechanics including diagnosis, fabrication, prescription and evaluation of orthoses and formulating treatment plans, muscle balancing programmes.
- Post graduate experience of full patient assessment (medical history, vascular, neuropathic etc) and formulating diagnosis & treatment plans
