Job overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a registered professional with an interest in infection prevention to join our existing infection prevention and control team.
We are a small, supportive and friendly specialist team, who provide infection prevention and control support and advice for a wide range of community-based services. The role will involve supporting the infection prevention & control team in the delivery of the Infection Prevention and Control Strategy and Quality Improvement Plan and includes; surveillance and investigation of health care associated infections, educating and training staff in infection prevention and control evidence based practices, auditing, implementing innovative and imaginative campaigns and interventions and specific infection prevention and control projects. The role will require the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
This is an opportunity for an enthusiastic, motivated and forward thinking candidate with an interest in infection prevention and control to professionally develop and work within a dynamic specialist team.

To support the Infection Prevention and Control Team in the delivery of high quality and evidence based infection prevention and control services on behalf of City Health Care Partnership CIC (CHCP). As a member of the Infection Prevention and Control Team the post holder will be required to assist in the delivery of national and local key targets and standards, including audits, training and surveillance.
Within the focus of Infection Prevention and Control the post holder will:
• Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team and act as a source of advice to patients, carers, GPs and other
healthcare professionals.
• Work in partnership with team members to improve the quality of infection prevention and control
management across the services provided by City Health Care Partnership CIC by means of
implementation and evaluation of the service.
• Contribute to the development of a high quality, proactive, evidence based Infection Prevention and
Control Service.

- Recognised professional qualification
- Evidence of continuing professional development

- First degree in nursing or an equivalent portfolio of evidence
- Teaching qualification e.g. ENB 998 or C&G 730 or equivalent
Knowledge

- Understanding of relevant key NHS England strategies, Long Term Plan and local strategies within the sphere of infection prevention and control
- Familiarity and understanding of national guidance on infection control and implications for compliance
- Basic IT Skills
