UCLH is embarking on a journey of culture change to embed the NHS Sexual Safety Charter into the conscience and behaviour of all who work in our hospitals. We are passionate about ensuring the workplace is a safe place for everyone with a zero tolerance approach to any unwanted, inappropriate and/or harmful sexual behaviours towards our workforce and we need help to drive this critical agenda.
We are looking for a project manager with a passion for sexual safety in the workplace to drive this cultural change to foster an environment of openness where staff feel safe to raise concerns and confident that they will be dealt with in a sensitive, emphatic and confidential matter.
The role will be varied; it will include proactive work to develop resources, reviewing and improving current HR processes, design and delivery of training and motivate all levels of the organisation to commit to sexual safety. The postholder will meet with those raising concerns and provide bespoke support.
There will be close working with a dedicated psychologist from the Trust’s Staff Psychological and Welfare Service and a range of stakeholders to ensure the principles and actions of the NHS Sexual Safety Charter are embedded throughout the organisation.
We are looking for someone with experience of dealing with sexual safety concerns and designing and delivering a project to agreed timeframes to affect cultural change.

Reporting to a Head of Workforce with close links with the Nursing and Midwifery Leadership team, the Project Manager for NHS Sexual Safety Charter is responsible for leading a culture change for the successful implementation and embedding of the Charter across the wider trust.
The individual will be responsible for developing and delivering on a project plan for implementation of the NHS Sexual Safety Charter, bringing together this sensitive and complex topic into a single plan that can be managed against key deadlines. To enable this the post holder will have to work with representatives across UCLH at all levels to understand the viewpoints of key stakeholders to create a plan that is realistic and achievable. Key to the implementation will be; creating effective and sensitive processes for dealing with reports of sexual harassment and abuse in the workplace, training for leaders, creating an environment where staff feel safe to raise concerns of this nature, learning from staff experiences and ensuring data and learning is captured and acted on.
The post-holder will provide assurance on the project plan in the form of presentations to the Sexual Safety Charter task and finish group and Workforce Committee and written updates for the Senior Director Team.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
Advocacy for those raising concerns of sexual safety in the workplace will be essential to this role. The post-holder will initially be the first point of support and contact within the HR team for those wishing to raise matters of sexual safety. The post-holder will work to provide support and advice to these individuals by signposting to support services and supporting them through internal and external processes. The post-holder will work with HR colleagues to ensure other individuals in the teams are trained and confident to deal with concerns of this nature.
Close working with UCLH Staff Psychological and Welfare Service will be essential to inform the trustwide implementation of the NHS Sexual Safety Charter and to coordinate confidential support for those coming forward with reports of sexual harassment and abuse.
