Job overview
We have a unique opportunity for an experienced research manager to take on the role of Clinical Research Manager for the rapidly expanding clinical research portfolio of the RNENT & EDH. The post holder will play a critical role in enabling research in the hospitals to be delivered safely and successfully by working closely with UCL/H researchers and RNENT & EDH management.

The post holder will advise researchers in the development and regulatory approvals of their clinical studies and guide them to relevant research organisations inside and outside UCL/H, be responsible for the running of the RNENT & EDH Clinical Research Feasibility Committee (CRFC), line manage a team of research support staff and work with the hospitals Senior Management Team to plan, coordinate and align research activity with the clinical services. The postholder will work with researchers and Trust finance managers to ensure clinical studies running in the RNENT & EDH are adequately costed and manage the hospitals research budgets.

Applicant requirements

Qualifications
Essential criteria
- BSc or equivalent in scientific or healthcare related discipline
- Good Clinical Practice (GCP) Certification
Desirable criteria
- MSc or equivalent in scientific or healthcare related discipline
- Project Management qualification
Knowledge
Essential criteria
- Knowledge of clinical research and data protection governance frameworks and regulations
- Knowledge of the CQC framework and its requirements for clinical research
- Knowledge of the framework for NIHR infrastructural support for clinical research in the NHS
- Excellent knowledge and insight into the operational requirements for clinical research within an NHS hospital environment
Experience
Essential criteria
- Significant experience of coordinating or managing clinical research in the NHS
- Experience of line management research or clinical research staff
- Project management experience
- Experience of costing clinical studies and managing clinical research budgets
Desirable criteria
- Experience of working in the field of ENT, hearing and balance or Oral health
