Job overview
The post holder will play a key role in developing the North West Genomic Laboratory Hub (NWGLH) visualisation and analytics platforms, used by Laboratory Management and the wider Division.
The post-holder will support the processes and reports to enable Laboratory Management to deliver a first class, comprehensive and proactive service to the Division. The post-holder will utilise languages such as SQL, R and Python and use emerging Cloud (power BI) services to create insights, predictive and prescriptive data sets, and innovative ways of presenting to different audiences in the Division.
The post holder will contribute to the development of the GLH Informatics programme and ensure all reporting is presented in the most dynamic and meaningful way and will ensure the integrity of data across all datasets used both internally and for Central returns.
Big data and clinical intelligence are revolutionising healthcare, offering opportunities for continuous clinical improvement as well as more personalised care. You will play a key role in developing the GLH reporting and analysis service, using a range of business intelligence products and technology. As we seek to improve clinical quality through informatics, we’ll look to your expertise in the specification and development processes and reports to ensure we deliver a first-class service to the Genomics Service.

To be the Trust specialist on designing and developing information solutions using Cloud analytical products and services, Business Intelligence products, and technology.
The post holder will work with relevant stakeholders to plan, design, and implement products and services to underpin effective decision making and improve clinical quality.
To support the GLH Data team to develop information solutions using ETL, PowerBI, machine learning, and Cloud based technologies .
To specify and develop solutions that will automate, schedule and improve upon current processes within the Laboratory Management team.
The post holder must communicate complex analytical concepts to other Informatics staff and to also provide summary of these concepts to other staff groups from a non-IT background.
To ensure the integrity of the data extracted from GLH transactional systems. To ensure records are complete, valid, accurate, and adhere to NHS data dictionary definitions.
To support the automation and scheduling of reports, processes and loads within the Laboratory Management team. To proactively seek sophisticated solutions to Information and reporting problems that ensure the department can evolve in an increasingly demanding climate.
