A new Technician position has been approved within the Pharmacy Homecare team:
For a long time the Pharmacy Homecare department has been growing and extending it’s already large patient base. The service is now at a point where it is necessary to support the team in dealing with the wide range of services across several therapy directorates. The number of patients has grown over the last 4 years from 5200 to 6600 as of 2023 and there will be continued growth across many of our existing services as well as some new service offered as new drug therapies become licensed and branded drugs become available as generics. This growth means it is now an opportune time for the team to expand its scope and include more technical staff.
The successful candidate will work closely with the Homecare Manager and the wider Homecare Team to effectively resolve Homecare queries, enhance existing services and liaise between Pharmacy and the clinical directorates with whom we communicate so regularly.
Cover of the Manager’s role when they are absent will form part of the responsibilities and will extend to provide some cover for the Pharmacy Purchasing Team if necessary.
As a qualified Pharmacy Technician, the candidate will support with oversight and management of the Homecare Service as well as take part in the working relationships between the Trust and the Homecare Providers we contract to deliver to our patients.
