Evelina London cares for local children in Lambeth and Southwark and provides specialist services across south east England including cardiac, renal and critical care services. Our community services include health visiting, school nursing and support for families of children with long-term conditions.
Our adult community services teams deliver care at the heart of the local communities we serve, working in partnership with GPs, local authorities and other healthcare and voluntary sector organisations. Working with our partners in Lambeth and Southwark, we are focusing on new ways of working to improve care for local patients.
In February 2021 the Royal Brompton and Harefield joined Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust, bringing together world-leading expertise in the care and research of heart and lung disease. The payroll and pension’s team at Guy’s and St Thomas’ are looking for an an enthusiastic payroll professional to step into the Overpayments Officer role. Spanning Guy’s, St Thomas’, Evelina, Royal Brompton and Harefield hospitals as well as our community services this role will play a vital role in ensuring accurate and timely overpayment calculation and recovery and offer advice to our dedicated staff. We also provide services to another NHS Trusts and are looking to expand this service across the region, this role will be directly involved in leading this expansion.

This role will support the Payroll Accounting Manager in providing a comprehensive overpayment service ensuring that Trust staff and ex-Trust staff are notified on a timely basis of any overpayments of salary. The role holder will ensure accuracy in all aspects of the overpayment cycle and provide clear and accurate advice and guidance to managers and staff in respect of pay, overpayments, local policies, terms & conditions of employment, benefits and other HR/payroll issues.

Main responsibilities include:

To calculate overpayments

To respond to overpayment queries ensuring a timely resolution.

To provide cover across all the payroll accounting team for absence and during busy periods

To ensure that correct payments are considered as part of calculations in respect of statutory and occupational sick, maternity, adoption and paternity pay.

To respond promptly to queries from managers and budget holders in respect of overpayments.
