Evelina London cares for local children in Lambeth and Southwark and provides specialist services across south east England including cardiac, renal and critical care services. We lead a number of specialist service networks aiming to ensure children are treated locally where possible, but have access to specialist expertise when they need it. Our community services include health visiting, school nursing and support for families of children with long-term conditions.
Our adult community services teams deliver care at the heart of the local communities we serve, working in partnership with GPs, local authorities and other healthcare and voluntary sector organisations. Working with our partners in Lambeth and Southwark, we are focusing on new ways of working to improve care for local patients.
In February 2021 the Royal Brompton and Harefield joined Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust, bringing together world-leading expertise in the care and research of heart and lung disease. Job overview
The Advanced Clinical Practitioner (ACP) is an experienced registered psychotherapist with specialist lymphoedema experience skills to assess and treat patients and manage the clinical environment, in liaison with the management and consultant team. The ACP will act as an autonomous practitioner in forming holistic clinical decisions and complex management plans in the diagnosis, assessment and treatment of lymphoedema patients. In conjunction with senior nursing and consultant staff formulate the development of clinical guidance for all aspects of clinical practice within the clinical speciality. The post holder will develop new areas of practice, working closely with nursing, allied health care professional and the consultant body to ensuring quality standards are met. The post holder will work closely with the interdisciplinary team and collaborate with colleagues to ensure that high quality patient care is maintained. The post holder will be expected to contribute to the daily management of the service and interact frequently with relevant stakeholders both within the organisation and as part of the South east London Cancer Alliance.

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Lymphoedema Service for an experienced allied health care professional with advanced clinical skills in lymphoedema to lead the Lymphoedema Service at GSTT . The post holder will hold a distinct level of responsibility to the Lymphoedema Service to drive forward high quality patient care working closely with the Matron and Head of Nursing in Oncology. The post holder will provide clinical, managerial and operational support for the Lymphoedema team to ensure service delivery.
The successful candidate must have experience of working in lymphoedema services with a sound clinical background to support, run and manage lymphoedema clinics for new and follow up patients. The successful candidate will also have experience of leading and managing a team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the day to day operational management of the Lymphoedema as well as strategic engagement with the South East London Cancer Alliance and other external stakeholders when required.
Finally, the successful candidate must be be enthusiastic, demonstrate excellent communication skills, flexibility, and reliability with an organised approach to work, possess the ability to motivate others and have a clear vision and passion to develop and grow Lymphoedema Services at GSTT

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
Deliver of Professional and Clinical responsibilities including assessment individuals holistically using a range of difficult assessment methods
Deliver evidenced based expert practice exercising a high degree of professional autonomy, demonstrating ability to make sound decisions based on knowledge and experience
Promote Service Delivery and improvements proactively developing strategy monitoring and improving qualify of health through innovation and leading new practices and service design
To develop and implement new policies and clinical guidance for new procedures for Lymphoedema Services together with working closely with other Lymphoedema Services across South East London Cancer Alliance
Lead the team in establishing and maintaining effective communication channels with multi-disciplinary team, patients and their carers and external agencies.
Coordinate, lead and manage the activities of clinics on a day to day basis.
Establish regular dialogue with local and tertiary referral centres showing good practice.
Assisting with the investigation of complaints. Lead on development of action plans to address areas of concern.
work across professional, organisational and system boundaries and proactively develop and sustain new partnerships and networks to influence and improve health, outcomes and healthcare delivery system
Provide training and education opportunities within the team, Trust, local and national arenas
Provide training and education and self management strategies for lymphoedema patients
