As a Rotational Pharmacy Assistant Technical Officer, you will be engaged in a versatile role that spans both the dispensary and pharmacy stores. Your responsibilities in each area are as follows:

Pharmacy Stores Responsibilities:

• Topping up stock medicines for use in wards and clinical areas across the Trust using a predefined stock list.
• Receiving medicines into the Trust, ensuring accurate documentation and organisation, and appropriate storage and handling.
• Handling the recycling process for medicines no longer required by patients or ward areas.
• Following SOPs whilst working in a  fast paced environment.

Dispensary Responsibilities:

• Dispensing medicines for both inpatients and outpatients against prescriptions.
• Preparing medicines for discharge
• Ensuring precision and adherence to SOPs throughout

In both settings, your role is vital in maintaining the smooth flow of pharmacy operations. Your attention to detail, commitment to accuracy, and dedication to patient wellbeing will contribute significantly to the high standards of service we uphold in the Pharmacy Department. Mid Cheshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (MCHFT) provides good quality, safe and effective healthcare to the people of Cheshire and beyond.

The Trust, which manages Leighton Hospital in Crewe, Victoria Infirmary in Northwich, and Elmhurst Intermediate Care Centre in Winsford, was established as an NHS Trust in April 1991 and became a Foundation Trust in April 2008.

During the Coronavirus pandemic, the Trust was recognised nationally for its Be Safe Be EquiPPEd campaign, which aimed to make the Trust as safe as possible for staff and patients, through supporting the correct use of PPE.

The results in the 2020 national NHS Staff Survey showed improvements in all elements of the safety culture theme, with 92% of respondents feeling their role made a difference to our patients. We were also recognised nationally for our workforce health and wellbeing initiatives.
