Job overview
The Widening Participation Facilitator will provide and support employability opportunities to attract and retain our current and future workforce by creating and implementing a range of Widening Participation projects to support our workforce strategy, corporate social responsibility commitments and our organisational community promise.
The post holder will facilitate and implement Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation trust’s plan to deliver meaningful engagement to education and the communities we serve to raise aspirations, improve career awareness, and promotion of the range of careers and routes into employment which benefits our communities, the Trusts and partner organisations
The post holder will develop technology enhanced widening participation offer to improve engagement and accessibility through the provision and co-ordination of efficient and effective programmes, activities and projects to support our strategy and aspirations and to contribute providing high-quality digitally enabled widening participation initiatives.
It is essential that the post holder role models compassionate and inclusive leadership by engaging, enabling and empowering others; using coaching to promote ownership of learning and quality improvement; and facilitating team working and collaboration across organisational boundaries.

· To engage with the education and community landscape across North Tyneside to promote employment and training opportunities in the NHS and health and social care employers.
· To develop and promote opportunities to widen access to careers and employment, including apprenticeships, Work Experience, undergraduate internships, graduate jobs, pre-employment learning programmes and provide information, advice and guidance relevant to raising aspirations across North Tyneside
· To design, develop and implement high quality digital content and resources across our widening participation portfolio.
· To facilitate efficient and effective widening participation activities to support aspirations for high engagement and promotion of careers and employment opportunities. In doing so, the post holder will role model desirable values and leadership behaviours, whilst supporting and responding to the needs of organisations and the wider community.
· Using feedback to improve content and continually explore new opportunities to further enhance the digital widening participation offering of the trust
· By providing a high-quality service to ensure the organisation meets a range of key performance indicators relating to widening participation activities, promotion of a range of entry and progression pathways into NHS careers including educational and vocational routes and Corporate Social Responsibility indicators.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
To facilitate and implement the organisations plan to deliver meaningful engagement across education and the communities we serve across North Tyneside to raise aspirations, improve career awareness, and promotion of the range of careers and routes into employment which benefits our communities, the Trusts and partner organisations.
To improve the use of digital platforms to improve engagement and accessibility of our widening participation initiatives.
To role model compassionate and inclusive leadership in order to shape the creation of a collective leadership culture within the trust. This means demonstrating a consistent leadership style which (a) engages, enables and empowers others (b) uses coaching to promote ownership of learning and quality improvement and (c) facilitates team working and collaboration within teams / departments and across organisational boundaries.

- It is an essential requirement of the role that the post holder has a valid driving license and is either a car owner and able to use the car for work purposes or has a Trust personal lease vehicle which may be used for the role. Qualifications, experience and knowledge
Essential criteria
- Degree level qualification in an appropriate subject such as education, careers, IT or demonstrable equivalent experience
- Knowledge of Health & Social Care widening participation engagement priorities.
- A sound knowledge of planning and delivering a range of widening participation activities to young people and adults.
- A sound knowledge of stakeholder engagement demonstrating the ability to communicate across our diverse communities
- Experience of co-ordinating and the delivery of a wide range of widening access and participation programmes and projects to promote apprenticeships, internships and careers, with partners, including those external to the organisation.
- Proven track record in delivery of training, evaluating and adapting a wide range of programmes including ability to engage and adapt associated learning to meet the needs of learners.
- Experience of working with individuals in and out of education
- Experience developing and delivering digitally enhanced interventions to improve engagement and/or impact
- High quality facilitation skills and experience whether leading small groups, large events, conferences or workshops.
- Understanding of working in an NHS environment.
- Understanding of the geography and demography including the barriers of the communities we serve.
