The Neonatal Unit at Blackpool currently cares for around 500 babies per year. The unit is a designated level 2 unit with 16 cots; 2 of which are intensive care, 2 high dependency and 12 low dependency. There are 6 additional family rooms within the neonatal unit for Transitional Care and parent/carer accommodation. Our community outreach team supports families following discharge home.
We are looking for enthusiastic and highly motivated nurses to join our friendly neonatal team. Successful applicants can expect to receive a well-developed, robust induction/preceptorship programme. Successful applicants who are not already qualified in speciality, will be required to undertake a training pathway to achieve a qualification in neonatal care which will include travel to a local tertiary unit for further experience.
Advert
The unit employs both qualified adult & paediatric nurses who are required to work in all levels of care within the unit and across our flexible transitional care service, both within the designated family rooms within the neonatal unit and within the maternity setting.
Successful applicants will have a supportive role to the Nurse in charge, ensuring the needs of the unit are met, assisting the non-registered workforce and students. The role requires close working with others in the MDT to deliver high quality care to neonates, prioritising and delivering nursing care and assessment as needed. Successful applicants would be expected to demonstrate high standards of care and set examples of best practise, ensuring patients’ safety, privacy and dignity is maintained at all times.
