Job overview
Womens Services are excited to offer this new opportunity within the department for a Band 2 Trainee Departmental Secretary Apprentice position with progression into a Band 3 Departmental Secretary post, upon successful completion, within 2 years, of a Level 3 Apprenticeship in Business Administration.
This post is a great opportunity for anyone looking to develop on their current Administration and Customer Service skills, with a desire to learn more about the NHS and services offered Womens Services - supporting patients from all walks of life. This position joins a small team provides a range of support to Senior Management and Specialised positions in the Board for staff supporting patients for Gynaecology and Obstetric (Maternity) problems– therefore an enthusiastic person with an empathetic nature is sought.
Training in post will be a combination of 1:1 shadowing, independent study and classroom based learning.
Hours to be worked Monday to Friday between 0800-1700. We are unable to consider part time hours and/or offer Sponsorship for this post.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
- Throughout the apprenticeship the post holder will gain experience working within a team of administrative staff to provide comprehensive secretarial/administrative support to the Family
Health Board Management Team, Specialist Nurses/Midwives, and Risk Management Team. - The successful candidate will develop the required skills to support data entry/collation, extensive liaison with medical, Midwifery and Nursing staff in addition to other agencies.

To be eligible for an apprenticeship you must:
- Have the right to work and remain in the UK.
- Have lived in the UK for at least 3 years.
- Provide evidence of required English and maths qualifications.
