  • allow a more coherent commissioning strategy for Kent and Medway as a whole
  • enable and oversee a consistent outcomes-based approach to commissioning across the system that targets population health improvement and maximises the potential for prevention
  • provide oversight and insight across a larger area, helping us identify and share best practice, deliver consistency in commissioning approach and expected outcomes, as well as helping address inequity and inequality across Kent and Medway.

Kent and Medway are looking to recruit a Lead Midwife for the Kent and Medway Maternal Medicine Network (MMN). This role will work alongside the Consultant Obstetric Physician and Obstetric System Lead for Maternal Medicine, within the MMN hub at Medway, and across the Kent and Medway NHS Trusts, taking responsibility for contributing to clinical leadership and engagement in the work of the Kent and Medway MMN

 This role will take a strategic lead on the design and implementation of effective care pathways for pregnant women and birthing people with complex medical conditions with a key focus on addressing inequalities in all aspects of care and delivering care that is centred on the woman/birthing person and their family. The post holder will also be responsible for the midwifery clinical leadership, be the primary source of expert and high quality advice from a midwifery perspective and will implement a strong focus on midwifery practice development within the Maternal Medicine Network in the context of the multi professional team.

This role will take a lead on co-production with service users for the MMN.
This is an exciting strategic leadership opportunity for an experienced midwife with excellent interpersonal communication skills and a strong capability for developing working partnerships with individuals, teams and organisations at both system and regional levels. You will be part of a supportive and highly motivated LMNS and be reporting and professionally accountable to the ICB Maternity and Neonatal Department.
