Evelina London cares for local children in Lambeth and Southwark and provides specialist services across south east England including cardiac, renal and critical care services. We lead a number of specialist service networks aiming to ensure children are treated locally where possible, but have access to specialist expertise when they need it. Our community services include health visiting, school nursing and support for families of children with long-term conditions.
Our adult community services teams deliver care at the heart of the local communities we serve, working in partnership with GPs, local authorities and other healthcare and voluntary sector organisations. Working with our partners in Lambeth and Southwark, we are focusing on new ways of working to improve care for local patients.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Locum Consultant in General Anaesthesia.
The post holder must be medically qualified, maintain GMC specialist registration and hold a licence to practice.

This is primarily a clinical role, to be carried out across various Guy’s and St Thomas' hospital sites, as well as our High Volume Low Complexity Hub at Queen Mary's Hospital, Sidcup.
The role is a full-time, 10 PA per week position, with 9 PAs designated for direct clinical care (DCC) and 1 PA for supporting professional activities (SPA).
The 9 PAs of clinical duties per week include elective theatre work and preoperative assessment clinics. Clinical work will take place over five days (Monday to Friday), with 1 in 10 weeks involving weekend work.
This is an outline program and you will be expected to discuss and agree upon a detailed job plan, including your personal and professional objectives, with the Clinical Leads and Director before starting the post.

The Theatre, Anaesthesia, and Peri-operative Medicine (TAP) directorate has increased its team of Consultant Anaesthetists by a third in the last three years, reflecting the continued rise in clinical activity. It now has over 100 consultants in adult anaesthesia, each with varied interests and specialist areas, working in the dynamic environments of Guy's and St Thomas’ Foundation Trust and Queen Mary's Hospital in Sidcup.
TAP is one of the most exciting departments to work in across the country. The department includes a Professor in Anaesthesia, editors from Anaesthesia, members of the Association of Anaesthetists Council, the current President of the Royal College of Anaesthetists Council, and the current DAS President, among others. Job responsibilities:
The post is fixed-term, with a provisional 10 PA job plan outlined in the Job Description.
We are looking for a dynamic and motivated anaesthetist to join our busy department to provide emergency and elective care. The role encompasses general fields of anaesthesia across all hospital sites of the Trust; however, opportunities in specialist areas will be available based on relevant expertise, such as cardiothoracic and vascular anaesthesia, cardiology, major surgery, renal transplant, regional anaesthesia, orthopaedics, robotic surgery, and urology.
This post does not include contributing to the anaesthesia on-call rota.
The post holder will be expected to participate in clinical and other service activities with the object of ensuring a high standard of patient care.
In addition to clinical work, experience in education, teaching and training, governance, leadership, and research will be considered a significant advantage.
