University Hospitals of Derby and Burton NHS Foundation Trust
About
University Hospitals of Derby and Burton NHS Foundation Trust (UHDB) is one of the largest NHS Foundation Trusts in the country. We have over 13,000 staff providing care across 48 specialties, spanning five hospitals (including one of the biggest Trauma and Orthopaedics Specialties in the country and Children’s services at both Derby and Burton Hospitals) which care for more than one million patients each year and serves a population of a similar size across South Derbyshire, South East Staffordshire and beyond.
As a trusted organisation at the heart of our communities, we recognise the important role we can play in supporting the public, patients, our own people and local partners in achieving the best of health for the local population and the communities in which they live. UHDB is one of the largest employers in the region and spends annually over £850m. As an ‘anchor’ organisation we play a wider role in society; setting an example in partnership with other large local employers across the public and private sector seeking to promote inclusion, raise the aspirations and prospects of young people, be a good employer and a major contributor to the local economy.
UHDB is currently building a vision to be one of the best hospitals in the country and we are proud of our teaching hospital status. We work in partnership with the universities of Derby, Nottingham, Stafford and Wolverhampton educating and training future generations of doctors, nurses and other healthcare professionals.
Investment in the latest technology will continue to bring our services to the cutting edge of medical advances and our highly skilled staffs are proud to be providing services as efficiently as possible.
Our vision is to build on our achievements and we will take great pride in caring for our patients in a clean, safe and technically advanced environment.
