Hywel Dda University Health Board presents an exciting opportunity for motivated and experienced physiotherapists to work within Prince Philip Hospital in acute inpatients, stroke and rehabilitation. We have 2 vacancies available – this will be a rotational post working within our stroke pathway (stroke wards and community integrated stroke service) and across Mynydd Mawr Rehab Unit (MMRU) with some input into Front of House services (TOCALS) depending on service need.
If you have a passion for rehabilitation this could be the opportunity for you.
Rotations:
Stroke rehab/CIST: You will be working in Llanelli supporting people who have predominantly experienced a stroke to return home from our acute stroke units.
The role will aim to deliver rehabilitation in hospital and at home in the local community to support transition from hospital and return to independence. The postholder will work alongside established teams to provide person-centred rehabilitation and ensure good continuity of care.

They will need to provide specialist assessments and formulate appropriate treatment plans using in depth clinical reasoning with a focus on patient-centred care, current HB pressures and awareness of patient flow. This role involves supervising students, junior members of staff, rehabilitation assistants and therapy support staff (assistant practitioners and support workers).
Successful applicants will require an excellent ability to work autonomously, in high pressure and fast paced environments, managing and prioritising a diverse and unpredictable caseload, while keeping the HB values central to everything they do.
As a versatile postgraduate, you will need to have strong clinical grounding in older people rehabilitation, expertise in frailty syndrome, stroke, neurological conditions, cardio respiratory conditions, MSK problems and a good understanding of current issues affecting acute, intermediate care and community services.
Due to the nature of the role you will need to be able to travel within the County, as well as being flexible to travel across the Health Board on occasions.
The post holder will be required to participate in the provision of on call respiratory service and future developments in 7 day working.
