Are you passionate about young peoples health? Are you looking for an exciting role where you can advise, influence and support the development of healthcare transition and developmentally appropriate healthcare for young people? If so, this job could be for you.
Young people living with health conditions receive care from all of the hospitals across Barts Health; St Bartholomew's, Royal London Hospital, Mile End Hospital, Newham University Hospital and Whipps Cross University Hospital. Young people may also have their care transferred to Barts Health from local community services and other hospitals.

You will be working closely with the Roald Dahl Clinical Nurse Specialist for teenagers and young adults Barts Health and colleagues from across childrens and adults services to build and develop exisiting work that supports healthcare transition pathways and developmentally appropriate healthcare.
You will have the opportunity to collaborate with voluntary organisatons who provide excellent support for young people.
We are looking for a Registerd Nurse who will be an advocate for young people and who will continue to promote “what matters to me”.
In return, we will develop your skills, knowledge
and experience with formal and on-the-job training.
You will also become a member of the Steering Group who supports our Barts Health Youth Forum – Youth Empowerment Squad.
This role is affiliated with Roald Dahl's Marvellous Children’s Charity. The post holder will join the Roald Dahl Nurse Network and will have access to the charity’s professional training and development programme, an online platform to network and engage with other Roald Dahl Nurses across the UK, plus other ad hoc benefits. The post holder’s patients and families will be able to access the Roald Dahl Marvellous Family Support Service which includes financial and emotional support along with other opportunities.
Your primary base will be at the Royal London Hospital. However, there is also flexibility for you to work from home where appropriate.

- Relevant 1st degree or equivalent Mentorship Course or equivalent
- Up to date registration with the NMC
Experience

- Experience of supporting and promoting Patient Experience
- Experience of working with young people with health conditions
- Experience of involvement in implementing service improvement projects
- Understanding of project management techniques
- Used to working in a busy environment
Desirable criteria
