The Norfolk and Norwich University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust provides a full range of acute clinical services for a catchment area of up over 1 million people. Our patients are referred to us by around 100 local GP surgeries and other acute hospitals and primary care Trusts around the country. We are involved in the teaching and training of a wide range of health professionals, in partnership with the University of East Anglia and other local education providers.

As a Service Manager in the organisation and a member of the Private Patients Team, you will have a wide and varied portfolio of services.
Support the Senior Operational Manager in the operational management of all patient services. This involves the delivery of operational performance targets including waiting lists, finance, supporting escalation of inpatient progress and to continually improve the quality of services to patients by using best practice standards within the available income.

- Provide hands-on operational management to private patients’ services ensuring the delivery of services in line with expected service standards.
- Be accountable through the Head of Patient Access and Performance Management for the monitoring and delivery of key quality, productivity, and performance targets.
- Take responsibility for the investigation and co-ordination of complaints that are predominantly administrative / medical related within the directorate working closely with the Charge Nurse, Consultants, and medical staff.
- Be responsible for effective communication systems within areas of management responsibility including regular team and departmental briefing.
- Undertake appropriate projects identified by the Operational Lead.
- Promote excellent customer service throughout all areas of responsibility, taking remedial action to correct poor and unresponsive service.
- Support the delivery of quality and Clinical Governance objectives ensuring the patient is at the centre of everything we do.
- Work in conjunction with the Charge Nurse to manage patient flow in private patient areas to ensure we are maximising all revenue opportunities.
- Ensure that clinic templates, procedure schedules and rotas deliver care at times that meet service capacity and patient needs.
- Assist the Operational Lead in the production, implementation, and revision of operational policies throughout the Directorate, instigating the changes to or implementation of policies and procedures.
- Support completion of patient and staff surveys and other feedback mechanisms, formulating remedial action plans.

Travelling to work
Staff parking is available onsite; however, this is limited during core working hours. We have more capacity in the evening and at weekends and can usually provide spaces during those hours.
We look to allocate these spaces fairly. Our Travel Office have a set of criteria that staff must meet in order to qualify. If you qualify for a space, you may be placed on a waiting list if we are at full capacity.
The NNUH is served by a number of public buses, and we offer generously discounted monthly passes with First Bus & Konect.
The Costessey Park and Ride runs regularly each day from 06:30 (from P&R) to 20:45 (from NNUH) and this service is free for NHS staff. There is a regular Thickthorn P&R service as well which is free. Applications to the Travel Office are required for this service. We also have a discounted service from the airport P&R if you purchase a bundle. Please see Konect website for further details.
The NNUH host multiple bicycle racks and a salary sacrifice scheme. We also benefit from a Beryl station onsite.
