Job overview

Glangwili General Hospital are looking for an enthusiastic radiographer to join the General and CT team. We have a busy CT and MRI department running two CT scanners and one MRI scanner. One of the scanners was installed last year (Canon Aquilion Prism) thanks to funding from Welsh Government. The main CT suite is modern and patient friendly with a cannulation and waiting area. The CT department undertakes all examinations including a weekly CT Coronary Angiography list. MRI has a weekly paediatric general anaesthetic list.
Applicants will possess BSc / DCR(R) in Diagnostic Radiography, HCPC registration and appropriate experience within general radiography. You will be required to supervise student radiographers and assist with the training of rotational radiography staff.
Flexible working/job share will also be considered. Participation in the general on call rota is mandatory.

Glangwili General Hospital is a busy district general hospital situated in Carmarthenshire in West Wales. The department is well equipped with a GE 750 HD CT scanner and a Canon Aquilion Prism recently installed in Jan 22.
The department has a Siemens Avanto 1.5T MRI scanner. The general department has two Samsung DR rooms, A Siemens CR room, all mobile equipment is Samsung digital and a selection of Philips II's. A Siemens Artis Zee fluoroscopy room facilitates ERCPs, barium studies, pacings and HSG's. There is a large ultrasound department and a busy interventional
radiology service.
Role extension is encouraged and we have Radiographer led Barium swallows and hysterosalpingograms, Plain film, CT, MRI and Nuclear Medicine Radiographer reporting and opportunities for post graduate study including ultrasound training across the Health Board.
The department has a busy on call, which is staffed on site for General and CT. MRI on call is from home at present.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
