Job overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen at Withybush General Hospital for a Pharmacist with drive and ability to become part of the dynamic Pharmacy Team. You will work in a supportive environment with training opportunities, to build on your foundation skills and develop your expertise
We are committed to developing and training our staff and you will join our dynamic clinical pharmacy team providing pharmaceutical care to a number of areas on rotation. This includes general medicine, general and orthopaedic surgery, cardiology and admissions.
Withybush General Hospital is a busy district general hospital with approximately 250 beds. It provides a range of medical and surgical specialities including coronary care, acute stroke, trauma and orthopaedics, frailty, critical care and the emergency department. The clinical pharmacy service is well established and provides high quality care across all specialities.

You will be joining a team of experienced Pharmacists and Pharmacy Technicians and you will be expected to work as part of the multidisciplinary team to deliver a patient focused clinical pharmacy service in all areas.
You will be working as a key member of the pharmacy team providing a clinical service to a number of areas on rotation, Medicines Information can also be included.
You will have the opportunity to develop your practice in a wide range of clinical areas in a small and friendly general hospital.
You will be supported in any ongoing studies including prescribing qualifications.
You will be expected to undertake the role of responsible pharmacist when working as part of the dispensary team.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Hywel Dda University Health Board is the planner and provider of NHS healthcare services for people in Carmarthenshire, Ceredigion, Pembrokeshire and its bordering counties. Our 11,000 members of staff provide primary, community, in-hospital, mental health and learning disabilities services for around 384,000 people across a quarter of the landmass of Wales. We do this in partnership with our three local authorities and public, private and third sector colleagues, including our volunteers, through:
Four main hospitals: Bronglais General in Aberystwyth, Glangwili General in Carmarthen, Prince Philip in Llanelli and Withybush General in Haverfordwest;
Seven community hospitals: Amman Valley and Llandovery in Carmarthenshire; Tregaron, Aberaeron and Cardigan in Ceredigion; and Tenby and South Pembrokeshire Hospital Health and Social Care Resource Centre in Pembrokeshire;
48 general practices (four of which are managed practices), 47 dental practices (including three orthodontic), 99 community pharmacies, 44 general ophthalmic practices (43 providing Eye Health Examination Wales and 34 low vision services) and 17 domiciliary only providers and 11 health centres;
Numerous locations providing mental health and learning disabilities services;
Highly specialised and tertiary services commissioned by the Welsh Health Specialised Services Committee, a joint committee representing seven health boards across Wales.

- Masters degree in pharmacy (4 years) or equivalent experience or qualifications
- Registered Pharmacist with the General Pharmaceutical Council

- Diploma in Clinical Pharmacy or equivalent experience or qualifications
