Job overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, motivated and highly skilled individual to join the Core Accounting Team as a Senior Accounts Assistant.
This role will take a lead in supervising our Continuing Healthcare (CHC) Accounting section within the Core Accounting Team. Key tasks including:
· Ensuring the integrity of the National Complex Care Database
· Coordinating the posting of all journals into the ledger
· Balance sheet management
· Analytical review of data
· Month end and year end closedown duties
· Regular reconciliations of database and ledger
· Processing of claims relating to retrospective reviews
· Assisting with annual fee uplift process
· Staff Management
The post holder will be responsible for managing and controlling the delivery of the CHC Accounting month end and year end tasks which form part of the Core Accounting annual plan and key to the successful implementation of the Health Board's Strategy.

The role of the Senior Accounts Assistant is to be focused on supporting the provision of sound Financial Management and Reporting services to meet this aspect of the Health Board’s financial duties - to deliver their financial targets.
The successful applicant will work closely with our Finance teams and external stakeholders to manage the implementation of the Core Accounting Team project objectives, contributing to Organisational innovation and delivering high quality of reporting.
Applicants should specifically have the following:
· Extensive experience of working with Microsoft Excel
· Strong analytical skills
· Excellent communication skills
Exposure to Oracle would also be beneficial.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Our 12,000 members of staff provide primary, community, in-hospital, mental health and learning disabilities services to almost 400,000 people across a quarter of the landmass of Wales. We do this in partnership with our three local authorities and public, private and third sector colleagues, including our volunteers, through:
Four main hospitals: Bronglais General in Aberystwyth, Glangwili General in Carmarthen, Prince Philip in Llanelli and Withybush General in Haverfordwest.
Five community hospitals: Amman Valley Hospital and Llandovery Hospital in Carmarthenshire, Tregaron Hospital in Ceredigion and Tenby and South Pembrokeshire Hospital Health and Social Care Resource Centre in Pembrokeshire.
Two integrated care centres (Aberaeron and Cardigan, Ceredigion).
