Job overview
We are excited to be able to offer an Apprenticeship position (Annex 30) within our CSS Dietetic Team. The 3-year apprenticeship will start in March 2025, is subject to university acceptance leading to Health care professional registration (HCPC) as a dietitian. The degree apprenticeship programme is suitable for fulltime workers and will be delivered virtually by The Sheffield Hallam University
University entry requirements include 2 GCSE passes at grade C / grade 4 or above in Mathematics and English or equivalent.
Plus:
◼ Evidence of successful formal study at level 3
◼ A minimum of 6 months experience in a health and social care capacity
This opportunity is open to all Dietetic Assistants / Dietetic Support Workers throughout MFT. Successful candidates will remain in their substantive MFT post until the course commences. Apprentices will work under the supervision and mentorship of qualified Dietitians for the duration of their apprenticeship.
Advert
Starting out with dietetic assistant duties as your competencies develop the work undertaken will progress to undertaking nutritional assessments and treatment planning. The apprentice will work closely with dietitians and other members of the multi-disciplinary team in enabling patients to meet their nutritional requirements.
The apprenticeship comprises
On the job training with release to complete university learning delivered by Sheffield Hallam University
A mixture of academic and practiced based learning and assessment to develop and maintain knowledge, skills and competencies as detailed in the (HCPC) standards of proficiency.
On the job – mentorship with structured progression (e-portfolio)
Attendance at University sessions and successful completion of placements
Undertake a flexible learning approach – online lectures/ interactions
Completion of a BSc (Hons) degree in Dietetics approved by HCPC and accredited by the British Dietetic Association.
On successful registration with the HCPC the apprentice will be offered a Band 5 Dietetic post within MFT.
