Job overview
A position has become available for a full time Band 3 Health Care Assistant on Ward 38. Ward 38 is a busy 28 bedded Cardiothoracic Ward. Ward 38 provides high quality care for patients having Cardiac and Thoracic surgery, we care for patients who have stepped down from CITU, CCU, A & E, and also elective admissions. This position is a shift working role, internal rotation of shifts is ongoing, you will be expected to work weekends, bank holidays, late finishes.

This includes -
Theatre prep, transport patient to investigations, personal care, assist with nutrition and hydration, assisting to provide safe environment and monitoring of high risk patients.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
Providing personal care to all patients
Assisting with nutrition and hydration where required.
Completing appropriate tasks which assist in the patient safe journey and routine monitoring, fluid balance and observations recorded.
Completion of the Care Certificate.
Emotional/spiritual support for patients
Providing environmental hygiene assistance in line with COAST assessments.
Working with colleagues in the day to day workings of the ward.

Currently the charges are - Basic DBS check £25.50, Standard DBS check £25.50 and Enhanced DBS check £53.50.
You are encouraged where possible, to register for the DBS update service. This is an annual registration fee of £16. By registering for the update service you will not have the additional cost of repeated disclosures.
Should you withdraw your application, you may be required to reimburse the cost of the DBS check.
