Are you are a Registered Nurse working at Band 6 or 7 level with experience in leading a team and looking to further develop your career?
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated, dynamic nurse at Wythenshawe Hospital, to lead an acute cardiology ward along with a pre operative assessment clinic and day case ward.
This requires an experienced and highly motivated individual to undertake the role of Ward Manager on the acute cardiology ward F5/F2 .
Our key focus is to provide high quality care to our patients, many of whom have complex cardiology conditions, pre and post cardiac surgery and post cardiac catheter lab procedures, who may require cardiac monitoring .

A successful individual must be highly motivated to take on this challenge and meet head on the pressure to maintain high standards and delivery of quality care, whilst leading the nursing team. You will demonstrate key leadership and management skills and will be responsible for providing clinical and professional leadership for a team of staff supporting the service, including utilising your leadership and clinical skills to meet the needs of the unit. The implementation of service development in line with the Trust Nursing and Midwifery Strategy and divisional objectives will be key, incorporating work to maintain the quality of the patient experience. The post holder will manage all aspects of clinical standards and professional practice within the service and will manage and coordinate staff budget resources and the environment. You will help shape future services working and supporting the Matron and Lead Nurse within the Cardiac Division.
Substantial experience as a Band 6 within cardiology/cardiac surgery and hold a mentorship qualification is required. You must have excellent communication and strong leadership skills to uphold the standards and values of the trust.
