As Deputy Head of Occupational Therapy in Hywel Dda University Health Board the post holder will be responsible for the effective strategic and operational management of a defined set of areas, ensuring the delivery of high quality occupational therapy services within the resources available.
Working as part of the occupational therapy senior leadership team the post-holder will be responsible for the management of staff within their defined area, ensuring staff are managed in line with the Health Boards employment policies.
The successful candidate will have excellent communication and influencing skills, experience of working across a range of services and have worked successfully with other professionals and service users.
You will feel passionate about the role of Occupational Therapy in Hywel Dda University Health Board, and be able to inspire those within the profession and those we work alongside.
Advert
The post holder with report to the Head of Occupational Therapy and will provide appropriate support to the Head of Occupational Therapy in the delivery of all operational functions across the service.
- Be accountable to the Head of Occupational Therapy for the operational performance of the services.
- Deputise for the Head of Occupational Therapy.
- Ensure the effective delivery of evidence based high quality Occupational Therapy services.
- Provide operational line management and professional leadership to Occupational Therapy staff within their defined area.
Provides specialist Occupational Therapy clinical leadership into planning, development, and evaluation of services, holding responsibility for the management and delivery of defined areas/projects.
Develops plans with, and for own service area, that inform the Occupational Therapy service plan. This will involve identifying service gaps, where evidence based role of occupational therapy may currently be absent as well as understanding and assimilating the organisational strategic objectives & plans and priorities of other service areas,
professions and organisations, which interface with Occupational Therapy.

Highly specialised and tertiary services commissioned by the Welsh Health Specialised Services Committee, a joint committee representing seven health boards across Wales.

- HCPC registration.
- Masters level education or evidence of equivalent qualification or experience relevant to role.
- Advanced knowledge in Occupational Therapy with evidence of recent and relevant learning commensurate with the role and HCPC registration requirements
