Airedale Hospital was opened in 1970 by Prince Charles and is an award winning hospital providing high quality, personalised, acute, elective and specialist care for a population of over 200,000 people from a widespread area covering 700 square miles within Yorkshire and Lancashire - stretching as far as the Yorkshire Dales and the National Park in North Yorkshire, reaching areas of North Bradford and Guiseley in West Yorkshire and extending into Colne and Pendle in the East of Lancashire.

Job overview
2025 is a very exciting year for Rehabilitation locally and across West Yorkshire.
The Long Covid Pathway is an innovative integrated multi-disciplinary rehabilitation service that supports people across Bradford Districts and Craven with a symptom focused, virtual first approach.
With clinics across place, including Skipton, Bingley and the University of Bradford we offer a combination of virtual and face to face assessment, rehabilitation and support.
The service has just successfully completed the first national pilot of self referrals, improving significantly the access for those in the most deprived areas and those with the most severe health inequalities. We also lead nationally in our group based vocational rehabilitation offer whilst moving forwards into 2025 projects include shaping the future of rehabilitation, in house spirometry and co-production.
The role is currently majority home based allowing for great flexibility within the work life balance. Supervision will be provided by the Service and West Yorkshire ICS Rehabilitation Lead.
Advert
- Lead clinically day to day the Long Covid Pathways whilst taking a lead in Consultant and AHP led MDTs.
- Maintain the quality and safety of patients whilst on the pathway alongside ensuring the appropriate escalation of patients when needed.
- Lead on ongoing developments and innovations within the service whilst making use,
wherever possible, of technological options to maximise efficiency and safety - Work closely with system partners to ensure effective use of resources and patient flow along
the COVID-19 rehabilitation pathway. - Take a lead role in co-ordinating equity of access to the service with a focus on health inequalities.
- Take a lead role in monitoring and co-ordinating patients throughout their COVID-19
rehabilitation journey, using data intelligence to evaluate patient outcomes and the service interventions. - Support the Service Lead, BDC Health & Care Partnership and the wider West Yorkshire ICS Rehabilitation Lead role in delivering high quality, cost effective, symptom focused patient care locally at place and wider across West Yorkshire.

1. Clinical
1.1. Utilises advanced specialist knowledge covering a range of procedures and underpinned by
relevant broad based knowledge, experience and competence
1.2. Develops and maintains new skills in extended scope practice in response to emerging
knowledge and techniques
1.3. Where appropriate to service delivery, demonstrates highly developed physical skills which
require specific training or considerable experience to attain the level required e.g.
advanced moving and handling techniques, advanced clinical assessment, clinical
procedures, diagnostic tests
1.4. Demonstrates independent practice responding to social, scientific, clinical and ethical
issues which are encountered

Experience
Essential criteria
- Comprehensive, holistic, relevant and recent experience across rehabilitation in a rehabilitation role
- Experience of multidisciplinary team working across agencies and health , social care and voluntary sectors
- Significant experience of being autonomous in supporting patients with complex rehabilitation needs, such as long covid, ME/CFS
- Experience of a service clinical leadership role
- Experience and comfort in using virtual and group based settings for rehabilitation
- Experience in leading and supervising senior AHP's
