Our centre for trauma services and obstetrics is at Conquest Hospital, while our centre for urology and stroke services is at Eastbourne DGH. At Rye, Winchelsea and District Memorial Hospital we offer outpatients, rehabilitation and intermediate services. At Uckfield Community Hospital we provide day surgery and outpatient care.
In the community, we deliver services that focus on people with long term conditions living well outside hospital, through our integrated locality teams working with district and community nursing teams. Community members of staff also provide care to patients in their homes and from a number of clinics, health centres and GP surgeries.

Exciting opportunity for a highly a motivated Band 6 Sister/Charge Nurse to join our established, busy 30 bedded Surgical Assessment Unit (SAU) at the Conquest Hospital.
You will need to have a keen interest in surgery and be committed to delivering a high standard of patient care, whilst maintaining your own personal professional development.

To support the ward Matron and act in her absence in maintaining efficient, effective, safe delivery of patient care, within a supportive environment that promotes a responsive approach to changing Healthcare needs.
To support the Ward Matron , and help develop the team and act as a mentor for new staff, junior staff, and student nurses.
The successful applicant will have excellent communication skills and be able to fully interact with all members of the multidisciplinary team. They will be able to demonstrate excellent leadership skills within the clinical environment to ensure effective running of the shift 24 hours per day.
