Job overview
The Salaried General Practitioner will be a key member of the Emergency Assessment and Access services in the Urgent Treatment Centre providing primary medical services to patients who either self-refer or are referred to the service from ED or 111.
Each practitioner will be required to provide primary medical services to the patients within the unit.
The role will be supported by the multidisciplinary team (MDT). The post holder will work closely with the MDT to proactively manage and anticipate future health needs for patients, developing appropriate care plans with a major focus on delivering high quality patient focused car

Qualifications & training
Essential criteria
- Fully quality Doctor
- General Practice (Vocational Training Scheme) trained (or equivalent either by EU acquired rights or ratified by PMETB).
- Evidence of continued professional development
- English language proficiency equivalent to the standard required by the GMC (IELTS)
Desirable criteria
- Membership of Royal College of General Practitioners or working towards MRCGP
- Other higher specialist qualifications
Experience
Essential criteria
- Primary / Secondary prevention services
- Chronic disease management
- Experience of auditing your own work and agreeing best practice based on evidence
- Evidence of adaptability to change
- Experience of planning in practice and professional development
- Commitment to real health improvement for disadvantage people and communities
Desirable criteria
- Experience of management
- Experience of adapting medical practice clinical compute systems
- Experience of working with clinical groups who are deprived, excluded and marginalised
- Evidence of team/ service development
Knowledge
Essential criteria
- Knowledge and understanding of Clinical Governance/ Effectiveness
- Knowledge of National Agenda/ White paper guidance for the reform of care and support/ other relevant literature
- Knowledge and clinical application of recognised national guidance in the management of chronic and acute illness such as NICE guidance and BTS
Desirable criteria
- Knowledge of, and commitment to, the aims and objectives of MFT including elimination of health inequalities, community empowerment with participation and involving staff

- Full registration with a license to practice with the General Medical Council
- Able to travel using own transport between sites
