An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Infectious Diseases specialist nursing team for a senior healthcare worker. The role will cover National Aspergillosis Centre (NAC) service and the Tuberculosis (TB) service. The NAC service delivers outpatient care to patients from across the UK who have a aspergillus lung related disease. The TB service delivers management and treatment in the south Manchester area and works closely with TB teams across Greater Manchester.
The senior healthcare worker role will support the specialist nursing team with delivery of a postal pack service, supporting patients and wider team in an outpatient clinic setting, data input and phoning patients to aid clinical assessments and support specialist nurses with patient home visits.
Full training will be provided to give you the skills to be able to support patients through their journey with the service. You will be a team player and happy to work independently at times, good communicator and be able to use your initiative to help the smooth running of the service.
NHS experience is essential.

- NVQ Level 2 in a health related subject ( E.G. Health and Social Care/Diagnostics and Therapeutics) or equivalent experience in a Senior Healthcare Support Worker role
- Good general education to GCSE level or equivalent.

- NVQ Level 3 in a health related subject ( E.G. Health and Social Care/Diagnostics and Therapeutics).
Experience

- Previous experience of working in an acute NHS healthcare setting.
- Previous experience of support work with people with complex needs within the NHS.
- Ability to demonstrate empathy, to motivate, to enable and to be sensitive to diverse individual needs.
- Ability to work as part of a team and independently on own initiative.
- Knowledge of the importance of confidentiality
- Ability to evaluate and reflect upon own performance.

- Experience of working within outpatient clinics
- Experience of engaging hard to reach people in healthcare.

- Experience of stock management and awareness of this important role.
