The Data Analyst is a role designed to provide a comprehensive information management service in support of all directorates of the organisation and external clients of the Information Analytics Team. The post holder will be responsible for delivery of the Information Analytics Business Plan, collating and organising data, and findings, across several priority projects and in response to requests from internal and external stakeholders.
Successful candidates invited to interview will be required to complete an analytical test prior to attending the interview.
This is a fixed Term Contract until end of March 2026.
The post holder will be required to have a NPPV2.

To work as part of the Information Analytics Team and provide support in delivering NHS CFA’s business plan objectives.
Providing an analytical service to all parts of the organisation by analysing data and interpreting and reporting on the results.
Undertaking complex statistical analyses requiring accuracy, attention to detail and frequent, prolonged periods of concentration.
Communicating analytical and statistical matters to non-analytical/statistical professionals, offering advice and persuasion on statistical techniques.
Dealing with statistical and analytical queries, assessing whether analyses are robust e.g., investigating data anomalies identified during analyses.
Establishing deadlines and provide on-going communication of progress to keep projects on track and on time.

In addition to the advertised salary working in the London area will attract High-Cost Area Supplement where appropriate. Providing reports and documentation suitable for managers and senior managers throughout the organisation and external organisations.
Maintaining an excellent understanding of the use of data in delivering business objectives.
Developing an enterprise-wide level understanding of business processes and issues affecting information systems within NHS CFA, NHS, and Government.
Maintaining a high level of technical knowledge in all areas of Data Analysis theory and technology.
Regularly undertaking audits and research to support the development of the Data Analysis service e.g, audits of data quality, developing methodologies for the analysis and interpretation of data.
Maintaining awareness of personal development requirements and actively seek development opportunities.

Essential criteria
- Significant experience of using a range of statistical, numerical, and analytical techniques to analyse data and ability to work with: • NHS Specific Data. • Structured and unstructured data. • Dynamic ETL processes and scripts. • Raw data to transform into useful formats specific to a business problem. • Key transactional organisation data sets to produce products that support Performance Management Reporting and statistical insights at all levels. • Key transactional organisation data sets to produce external benchmarking products. • Appropriate mediums to visualise data to show compelling actionable products for internal and external stakeholders. • Demonstrable experience in managing deadlines and prioritising workloads.
Desirable criteria
- Experience managing sensitive data.
- A demonstrable understanding of counter fraud strategies and policies in either the private or public sector.
- A demonstrable understanding of the organisational structure of the NHS.

- Significant technical expertise in key technologies, specifically Alteryx Designer and Microsoft PowerBI and knowledge of: • The creation of Alteryx Designer processes to collect, organise, analyse, and migrate to data visualisation solutions. • The use of PowerBI to produce precise meaningful dynamic dashboard reports aimed at internal and external stakeholders at all levels. • Industry-recognised statistical methods and standards. • Management, cleansing, abstracting, and aggregating of data alongside deploying a range of analytical studies. • Manipulation and linking different data sets. • Initiating corrective actions, monitoring services to resolve problems to prevent service loss. • Knowledge of GDPR, Data Protection Act 2017, Freedom of Information Act, as well as the exemptions to these and all related confidentiality and information governance issues

- A strong understanding of the Alteryx system and its utilisation of data and outputs.
