The Purpose and Activities of DCHS?
Our purpose is to provide community health services to a patient population of over one million people in Derbyshire and Derby, as part of Joined Up Care Derbyshire.
We employ around 4,200 substantive staff, caring for patients in 11 community hospitals and more than 30 health centres, as well as in clinics, GP practices, schools, care homes and, increasingly, in people’s own homes and via virtual consultations.
During the pandemic response we have led the implementation of public vaccination centres in collaboration with partners across health and social care.

We are looking for a Band 6 Quality Manager to work 22.5 hpw over 3, 4 or 5 days per week, in office hours, Monday to Friday. Work-base to be confirmed, but home working is supported, though ability to travel around Derbyshire is essential. You should have a degree or equivalent NHS experience with significant leadership experience and a leadership qualification. You will work closely with the Clinical Directors and the Multi-Professional Development Team to support our advancing practice workforce.

Be an inspiring leader who will be an integral part of the senior management team and within this structure will be responsible for managing quality and governance initiatives.
Lead a quality improvement approach across the service, ensuring that a positive culture towards transformation and change is fostered.
Lead on recruitment and people management within the team.
Develop proposals for new initiatives and manage their implementation.
Work in conjunction with the business manager, clinical directors and educator leads to implement strategies and ensure the continued improvement of practice, underpinned by evidence-based knowledge and competencies.
Work with the clinical directors and business manager and lead the quality and governance agenda to ensure that high-level advancing practice education and development is delivered.

To drive the quality and governance agenda across the service.
Ensure the Multi-Professional Development Team (MPDT) is agile and resilient enough to respond and adapt to new internal and external development.
Interpret the changing landscape of advancing practice, incorporating more professional backgrounds and more specialist scopes of practice requires more in-depth understanding as well as providing more opportunities for development and innovation.
Ensuring that our growing advancing practice workforce is ‘regulation ready’.
Manage governance at all levels of advancing practice and ensure this is facilitated by the structured support offered, following frameworks etc.
Innovate and shape the advancing practice framework and trailblaze within the community setting, ensuring that our patients and teams have the assurance and support around standards of capability.
Influence and support partner organisation understanding of issues affecting advancing practice and share expertise.
Promotes innovation and enables the team to be more adaptable.
Empowers and engages the team, offering development opportunities and increasing autonomy.
Ensures a clear line of accountability within the team.
