An exciting opportunity to join and develop a career within Theatres and Anaesthetics has arisen. We are offering all suitable candidates a chance to work and learn with the multi-disciplinary team within the department.
We are looking for an active and enthusiastic person to work with our team. You will be involved in the transfer of patients between theatres and wards/departments, and in assisting qualified staff in the preparation of the clinical environment. You will also assist in the management of clinical waste and stock control, whilst maintaining a safe working environment for all.
As part of the operational procurement team, the successful applicant will therefore require strong communication and influencing skills as well as the ability to build excellent working relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders. You will play a pivotal part in developing and extending the scope and content of the Procurement catalogues and ensuring catalogue content reflects the needs of the Trust.
In addition, this is a developmental role where the successful candidates will be trained to review theatre lists, manage equipment and sets, review procurement issues, and be involved in stock management. They will also be given the opportunity to work inside the operating theatre in preparation for a band 3 theatre circulating assistant role and further.

Main Duties of the Role:
- Be involved in the transfer of patients to and from the ward
- Assist in the admission and discharge process
- Manage clinical waste whilst maintaining a safe and working environment for all
- With a qualified practitioner, review theatre lists and communicate with the multidisciplinary team in ensuring all requirements of planned surgical procedures are met
- Understand the process of loaning and checking equipment and stocks
- Work with sterile services in ensuring sets and instruments are sterilised in time for planned surgical procedures
- Work with qualified practiitioners and the procurement team in managing stocks and implants
