Oxford is a world-renowned centre of excellence for research. Oxford Health works closely with the University of Oxford department of Psychiatry and the Department of Primary care, has a Biomedical Research Centre dedicated to improving mental health and the NIHR Clinical Research Facility at the Warneford site. The Trust also hosts the NIHR Applied Research Collaboration (ARC) which carries out applied research that directly impacts patient health and wellbeing

Applicant requirements

You must have appropriate UK professional registration.

The postholder will have access to vulnerable people in the course of their normal duties and as such this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.

Training and Qualifications

Essential criteria

A recorded/registered qualification in one of the following – mental health nursing, social work or occupational therapy
Evidence of continuing professional development and maintenance of relevant professional qualification

Desirable criteria

Further professional knowledge acquired through degree/diploma
Teaching/mentoring qualification
Leadership training

Experience

Essential criteria

Significant post qualification experience in a mental health setting, working with adults with mental illness.
Experience of mentoring and clinical supervision of others

Desirable criteria

Experience and understanding of working within the education setting.
Experience of working with adults who have serious mental illness and carers in the community

Knowledge Skills and Ability

Essential criteria

To have ability to manage case load and experience of acting as care coordinator for clients on a case list
To be able to function as part of multi-disciplinary team and liaise with external agencies i.e. primary care, social and health care.
To have ability to assess client need, both mental health, health and social needs
Understanding of evidence-based practice and the ability to demonstrate how this influences clinical practice
