We're seeking a dedicated and dynamic individual to join our team as the Gateway Deputy Manager. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to the Mental Health Transformation agenda and make a real difference in the lives of individuals experiencing severe and enduring mental health conditions.
In this pivotal role, you will oversee crucial assessment and administration processes, ensuring our services are delivered to the highest standards. You will provide consultation and training to staff across various agencies, support clinical staff in making complex decisions, and act as the main point of contact for the Gateway service.

Advert
- To oversee all assessment and administration processes in relation to the Service
- To support the delivery of a high quality link worker provision into primary care, secondary mental health services, social care partners, community based resources and voluntary sector.
- To support the Gateway Team Manager in the delivery of the service, ensuring it meets national guidance and local key performance indicators.
- Ensure staff are trained and supportive, to have a sensitive, approachable, and informative manner in dealing with client and health professional queries.
- As the line manager for junior members of the team you will support the management of human resources meeting the Trust targets for recruitment, retention, sickness levels, agency usage, supervision and appraisals.
- As well as the day to day Clinical function, you will be responsible for supporting clinical staff to take complex decisions which are evidence based and recovery focused.
Applicants must have a full valid driving licence and have access to a vehicle for work. Adjustments can be considered in line with the Equality Act 2010 where required.

Essential criteria
- A recorded/registered qualification in one of the following – mental health nursing, social work or occupational therapy
- Evidence of continuing professional development and maintenance of relevant professional qualification
Desirable criteria
- Further professional knowledge acquired through degree/diploma
- Teaching/mentoring qualification
- Leadership training
Experience
Essential criteria
- Significant post qualification experience in a mental health setting, working with adults with mental illness.
- Experience of mentoring and clinical supervision of others
Desirable criteria
- Experience and understanding of working within the education setting.
- Experience of working with adults who have serious mental illness and carers in the community
Knowledge Skills and Ability
Essential criteria
- To have ability to manage case load and experience of acting as care coordinator for clients on a case list
- To be able to function as part of multi-disciplinary team and liaise with external agencies i.e. primary care, social and health care.
- To have ability to assess client need, both mental health, health and social needs
- Understanding of evidence-based practice and the ability to demonstrate how this influences clinical practice
