Job overview
This is an exciting opportunity to become Deputy Director of Corporate Service at one of the largest NHS Trusts in the country. Reporting to the Director of Corporate Business/Trust Board Secretary, you will lead on a range corporate governance-related programmes of work and lead the Trust’s Executive Directors’ Business Administration team. The role is ideal for a knowledgeable and experienced individual looking to progress their career in governance within a complex organisation.
Your ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with colleagues and your sense of purpose and commitment to achieving results, combined with the gravitas to influence people, will be essential in the role. Proactive, with a keen eye for detail and improvement opportunities, you will work with senior leaders across the Trust to ensure there are robust and functioning governance structures and processes in place to support the Trust to deliver our ambitious organisational strategy and remain compliant with statutory and regulatory requirements. You’ll be highly professional and diligent with the maturity, calmness, and discretion to operate within a pressurised environment.

The main duties of the role are to:
· Lead on specific areas and programmes of work within the corporate business team,
· Maintain and improve assurance processes within the Trust and identifying and implementing opportunities to enhance them.
· Provide leadership to the Trust’s central business administration team, ensuring that team members are supported and developed to deliver a high-quality service which meets the needs of Executive Directors and Corporate Directors. This will involve line management of some members of the team.
· Ensure that the Trust complies with its legal, constitutional, and regulatory requirements and those enforced by NHS regulators, including NHS England and the Care Quality Commission
· Oversee the delivery of an annual well-led self-assessment exercise including the collection, collation and storage of all relevant evidence in collaboration with the clinical governance team.
· Oversee implementation of, and report on the Trust’s compliance with specific corporate governance policies, taking action where necessary to strengthen processes and procedures, and enhance compliance.
· Provide advice to corporate teams and Clinical Groups to implement effective corporate governance processes.
· Manage budgets within the corporate business portfolio, covering a range of different areas of work.
