Endocrine and General Surgery
Applications are invited for the post of Specialty Registrar in
Endocrine Surgery.
This is an exciting opportunity to work within UCLH for Endocrine
Surgery and gain experience in thyroid, parathyroid and adrenal
surgery.

The successful candidate will be expected to participate in research
and teaching programmes and will be asked to take part in on call for
General Surgery.
Clinical Responsibilities:
The post-holder will work closely under the direction of the Endocrine Surgeons with duties appropriate to their experience and specialty. Duties will consist of providing day-to-day inpatient care, attending outpatient clinics and assisting the consultants in theatre with some independent operating, taking part in professional development, clinical governance activities. The post holder must be willing to contribute to future developments within the specialty. The postholder will be expected to contribute to clinical governance programmes including audit.
Postgraduate Education:
The post holder will be expected to participate in clinical teaching of medical students, Foundation and Core trainees in clinical and simulator settings and to pursue their own continuing professional development.

The GI Services Division sits within the Surgery and Cancer Board and encompasses the following specialist areas:
▪ Endocrine Surgery
▪ Bariatric/Obesity Services
▪ Upper GI Cancer Surgery
▪ Colorectal surgery
▪ Vascular Surgery
▪ GI Medicine
The Division is responsible for floor 9 of the UCH Tower, T13S and the Endoscopy Unit.
The GI Division is led by a Divisional Clinical Director (Dr Sara McCartney) and a Divisional Manager (Danya Taylor) supported by Divisional Senior Nurses (Dympna Mangan, Ellie Knights and Janet Saunders).
