We are an integrated hospital and community services healthcare organisation serving around 400,000 people in Hartlepool, Stockton and parts of County Durham. We also provide bowel and breast screening services and a number of community based services to a wider population in Teesside and Durham.
Our turnover is around £365m and we employ a number of medical, nursing, clinical and non-clinical support staff totalling approximately 5,500 people.
We operate our services from two main hospital sites, University Hospital of North Tees and University Hospital of Hartlepool.
The University Hospital of North Tees provides emergency and planned medical and surgical care, maternity services and a wide range of diagnostic services and outpatient clinics
The University Hospital of Hartlepool provides patients with a wide range of diagnostic services and outpatient clinics, day case and low risk surgery
We also run services from various other sites across the local area including Lawson Street (Stockton), One Life Centre (Hartlepool) and Peterlee Community Hospital.

We require an enthusiastic and conscientious clinician to join our professional and supportive team to provide patient focused paediatric and special care dentistry for people in the community with more complex needs who are unable to accept care in general dental practice
Based: The base for this post can be agreed with the successful candidate at either a North Tees or South Tees clinical site due to being a Teeswide service covering: Guisborough Primary Care Hospital, One Life, HARTLEPOOL, North Ormesby Health Village, Middlesbrough, Lawson Street Health Centre, Stockton, University Hospital North Tees, Stockton.
Tees Community Dental Service provides Consultant led level 2 and 3 Paediatric and Special Care Dentistry for, including adults and children with additional needs both in primary and secondary care settings, throughout the Tees Valley. A caring and empathetic manner is essential.
The post offers opportunities for training and development, and the clinician will work primarily in Guisborough, as well as within other clinics the Teesside area.
Full registration with the General Dental Council. Although, a postgraduate qualification is not essential, it would be considered an advantage

The successful candidate will be an experienced dentist possessing the necessary skill, patience and tact required in the provision of dentistry for adults and children with additional needs as well as have experience in delivering care under conscious sedation and general anaesthesia.
Working within the Consultant led dental team duties will include the treatment of children and adults with a range of additional needs encompassing physical, sensory, intellectual, mental, medical, emotional or social impairment or disability or a combination of these factors.
The successful candidate will also be involved in supervising trainees and supporting the ongoing development of the wider dental team as well as participating in the departmental audit programme.
In addition the successful candidate will assist the Community Dental Management Team with the administration, planning and development within the department and wider organisation when required.
